SMASH#8 Morning Training
kundalini yoga or path to your self
Ulrike Bodammer

This class is designed to give you unique and potentially radically different experiences of your own physicality, your mind, and your ideas about your limits, needs and pathways in life and work. The ability to be open to some deeper understanding about yourself and your happiness is in your hands. I will give you some tools and some loving words to accompany you along your true path. Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness, as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a powerful technology which may lead to deep, meditative experiences. You don’t have to be a believer in order to experience its benefits. It is an ancient Yoga form which was kept secret and only taught to selected Yoga masters and ultimately introduced to the U.S. by Yogi Bhajan in the 1960's in order to raise peoples' consciousness and give them a cathartic experience without drugs. It was then custom-tailored to the needs of the people in the Western World.

Kundalini Yoga uses dynamic movement as well as asana (postures)from Hatha-based yoga, pranayama (breathing techniques), mudras (gestures), mantras and visualizations to maintain health in a holistic way. Additionally, this practice focuses on clearing our "nadis" (subtle energy channels) which opens the way for energy to rise thorough the Chakras (our energy centers). Also the focus on a healthy spine is essential, which strengthens the nervous and glandular systems. Each class can help one become aware of much more than just the strength of the body. It helps to facilitate a physical, emotional and spiritual transformation. Kundalini yoga is yoga for the mind, body, and spirit.
